Project 365 – 81/85

Another mixed bag of Photography this post from attempts of Star Trails over the bright lights of Surfers Paradise, more Macro Photography, Smoke and Charlie Boy. Charlie Boy has been a great cat to practise off camera flash and lighting on. You have to set up pretty quick and get the shot before he decides to walk away. 7.5kgs of Cat sitting on my up-turned Umbrella with the flash high camera right behind Charlie.

Almost bought my Macro Lens but Car Registration was due. Currently with the Australian Dollar above 90US cents it’s a good time for prices. Here’s the three Kenko tubes stacked with the 75-300 lens attached.

Not the most easiest subject to focus on manually but I’m getting there.

Played around with Photographing Smoke. I almost have the perfect set-up, just need to find a better spot where there’s less of a draught coming through. It’s new to me so I’ll return to this subject again shortly.

If you have ever seen my work on RedBubble, you might have noticed I shoot a lot of long exposures around the Gold Coast waterways. I have been trying to break this up a little and vary my body of work. Looking across the Southport Broadwater towards Southport.

Saturday Night was Earth Hour and was kind of hoping for clear skies so I could shoot some Star Trails over the Hi-Rises and City Lights of Surfers Paradise.  Unfortunately clouds started to roll in so the Star Trails have been postponed until more favourable conditions. Might help if the Moon’s not so bright in the sky to.

Currently I’m constructing a few props that’ll make their way here shortly.
