Photography Project 365 – 50/53

I am a little slack at times of keeping my posts up to date, I’ll get back on track again soon – I hope. Friday’s was another taken in the local Environmental Park while out with the dogs on their daily walk. I took my old 75-300 out just to see if it’s as bad as I think it is. It is and ear marked for replacement.

Charlie Boy is doing his bit in keeping down the number of Gecko’s invading the place, almost obsessive/compulsive disorder this cat. Like clock work at night he’ll find me and get me to help him hunt these inside the house.

Summertime, week-ends = crowds at Currumbin Valley. Went for a sunset Waterfall shoot with Adam Maund in the Mount Cougal section of Springbrook National Park. Plenty of people diving off the rocks, moving about and really making a hard time of long exposures. Some of the images had a little too much ghosting of people’s movements and not the easiest to clone out.

Currumbin Rock Pool

We’ll be coming back here again and might try to see how easy it is to make the way up to where the Currumbin Creek starts and maybe climb out to the West Peak of Mt. Cougal.

Playing around with off camera flash and resorting to self portraits to get a better understanding of how to control light. Does allow for  more play in Photoshop compared to my stock standard landscapes.

Been a long time since I took the dogs up to The Spit. I started avoiding the place due to the amount of images I’ve been uploading onto my RedBubble account as those that watch me tire of the similar works. What do you think?

It’s a dog friendly beach plus offers some good reflections on its day.
