Slow on the Photographic Front

Been a bit slow on the old Photographic side of life lately. I did manage to get down to The Coolangatta Hotel for the Suicidal Tendencies concert on December the 4th. What a night. I’ve been into this band since the late 80′s, have seen them countless times and Infectious Grooves when they have toured Australia but this was my first time landing a gig Photographer’s spot. There were times when I had to stop getting into some of the anthems so I could keep a steady hand and remain focused. Mike hasn’t slowed down a bit and if you haven’t seen these guys for sometime or never have before, this tour was being filmed for the up-coming Live DVD to be released next year. Plus another Australian Tour.

In between shifting files, finding room on my hard drives and processing images – I’ve had to battle my monitor. It’ll be going in to the service centre this week and hopefully I won’t be without too long(making sure it’s fixed whilst under warranty). Frustrating.
Speaking of small things, A tiny storm cell rolled through and was the tonic I needed to clear the mind from computer problems. Didn’t last long but at least I got to try out my new toy; A Lightning Trigger. The first result.

Pretty happy with this and hopefully will land a few more day time strikes if the storms appear. It’ll take a little learning curve on working out the settings. Night time I could still get away with a 30 second shutter and catch a strike or two. This way, it’ll only catch the strikes.
