Sand Storm

I lost my original post of this freakish event when I belonged to a different hosting provider. Sydney was hit by a sand storm at sunrise and 900km plus up the road and a few hours later the Gold Coast had its turn to be blanketed in red dust from the centre of Australia. One day I might find the other images from this day for history. Maybe.

Didn’t take long before the buildings of Surfers Paradise became hidden amongst the dust. Consider these are only 500 metres away.

Still people flocked to the beach with all the dust and tried to make the most of the school holidays. The swell was coming from the south and the water was pretty cold on this surreal day. Last photo was taken around midday with the sun being that little white dot. Everywhere you looked the water, glass on the buildings reflected purple/bluish colours like you were wearing polarised sun glasses. I could taste the dust for days.
